Major Water Project:

IL&FS has been pioneering the concept of PPP projects in the water sector as early as 1995. IL&FS entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Tirupur Exporters Association and Government of Tamil Nadu to develop a comprehensive area development programme (consisting of water supply and waste water management for the industrial town of Tirupur). IL&FS has also successfully developed and implemented a water supply system for the town of Vizag

The major waste water sector projects include a Rs 4200 mn project for the management of industrial effluent in Tirupur, a Rs 600 mn waste water recycling project for the leather town of Ambur/Vaniyambadi, a Rs. 600 mn waste water recycling project for the leather town of Ranipet and a Rs 1000 mn sewage to industrial water project for the industrial area of Sriperumbudur near Chennai

IL&FS will pursue projects in the area of desalination, water reuse, improvement in water use efficiency as well as development of sewage and water recycling projects
