Three fourth of the world’s SEI CMM Level 5 Companies are located in India

The Indian economy is growing steadily with 8-9 percent GDP growth and the domestic market is expanding with sudden rise in investments in almost all sectors of the economy from telecom, retail, financial services, and manufacturing trying to leverage IT for business transformation through efficient operations and superior customer service. The U.S.  spends about 8.0-8.4 per cent of GDP as compared to India’s spending on technology in India of about  1 per cent of the Indian GDP.

Indian company’s service model is traditionally focused on labour centric services.

Many indian technology companies have not many realized the potential hidden in their own backyard in their race to win mega deals in the Western countries without realizing that  Indian market was a relatively evolving market and the US market was a matured market which might flatten out. The Indian players had fairly huge deals and strategic alliances in the business sector, because of the scope of the deals, they never thought about going beyond implementing a core business solution and reach the scope and size of the deal handled by the global players
Though the Indian companies knew about Information Technology they were reluctant to spend as their U.S. counterparts did as they are not fully aware of the power of technology. One main factor which worked against the Indian IT players except few even after they started focusing on the market was that they lack the integrated approach to IT business solution.

Global  Player’s service model is focused on offering  integrated approach to IT business transformation

The major factor which worked in favour of Global players is that their  integrated approach taken by the them to work on the entire IT business transformation for their clients by helping them design, build, maintain, and manage the complete system which includes both the hardware and the software. The Global players looked for for deals which are transformational in nature Due to this ,today these multinational players deal with prestigious Indian enterprises and institutions like the  Bharati air tel, Dabur Idea Cellular, DLF, Apollo Group, Syndicate Bank, Ashok Leyland, Andhra Bank, and Vysya Bank amongst others.
